The Ethical Grey Zone

Our Grand Opening event! Dr. Caitlin Casey is coming to UBC to give her renowned workshop, “The Ethical Gray Zone” brought to you by Equity and Inclusion in PHAS.

Dr. Caitlin Casey is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Astronomy at the University of Texas, where she researches galaxy formation and evolution. She is also highly engaged in work on topics of Equity and Inclusion. She will bring her acclaimed workshop, “The Ethical Gray Zone,” to UBC on March 28th from 11 am – 2 pm. This workshop is targeted to academic researchers at all stages of their career, and focuses on topics like bullying, microaggressions and harassment.

The workshop will run for roughly the first hour. After that, we’ll take a break for a catered lunch and informal discussion, followed by a discussion about the workshop. Registration is free but limited, so please sign up!

When: March 28, 2018 11 – 2pm (lunch provided)

Where: UBC Lillooet Room, IKBLC
(Note: Seating is limited. If you sign up and are then unable to attend, we ask that you let us know asap so we can allow others to sign up. We expect you to attend the full three hours, as the content of the discussion and activities after lunch will follow directly from the morning session. )
